Our Story.
Stocker Dance Academy was founded in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, in 2004 by Nikki Stocker, ex-professional dancer with over 30 years of experience in the performing arts industry.
Nikki's vision was simple: to create a space where every student- regardless of age, ability or ambition- could discover the joy of dance in a warm, professional, and encouraging environment.
More than two decades later, that vision is alive and thriving. Hundreds of students have passed through our doors, and we are prouder than ever of the community we have built.
Our Studios.
We have two purpose built studios at Hemingway House, Thornes Moor Business Park, Wakefield - light and airy spaces with sprung floors and wall to wall mirrors to support safe and effective practice.
Our facilities include:
- Two sprung-floor studios with full length mirrors
- Seperate singing studio
- Seperate changing rooms
- A tuck shop for post class treats
- A cafe area for parents to stay and socialise with a drink and snack
Our studios are also available to hire for events, parties, karate, amateur dramatics, and professional company rehearsals. Please contact us to inquire about availability and rates.

Meet our team.
Nikki Stocker - Founder & Teacher
Nikki trained as a professional dancer and has over 30 years of experience in the performing arts industry. She founded Stocker Dance Academy in 2004 with a passion for nurturing talent and building confidence in young performers. Nikki holds teaching qualifications with IDTA and is NPAA-accredited. She has guided countless students to exam success and professional careers.
Miss Daisy
IDTA and ISTD qualified.
Miss Daisy teaches our Saturday morning classes and is one of our competition team choreographers
Miss Darcie
BA Hons Performing Arts and LAMDA qualified.
Miss Darcie teaches our Friday StreetDance and Musical Theatre classes. She has a wealth of experience in both performing professionally and teaching. She recently completed a tour of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Miss Lauren
BA Hons Performing Arts and LAMDA qualified.
Lauren trained at Laine Theatre Arts. She teaches a variety of classes and is one of our competition team choreographers. She recently completed a contract as a dancer onboard Costa Diadema and was Fairy Godmother in pantomime.
Miss Lucy
Acrobatic Arts and IDTA qualified.
Miss Lucy teaches our Friday Acro classes. She has a wealth of experience in teaching children and can often be found performing in local theatres dancing in a variety of productions.
Miss Abi
Acrobatic Arts, HND nad BA Hons in Performing Arts.
Miss Abi teaches our StreetCheer and Acrobatic Arts classes.
