Stocker Dance Academy has been the home of dance in Wakefield for over 20 years. We are proud to provide strong foundations in technique while maintaining a warm, friendly atmosphere where every child feels they belong.

Many of our students have gone on to secure places at Laine Performing Arts, White Lodge, Urdang Academy, CAPA College, Royal Ballet Associates, and Northern Ballet Associates - and our alumni have built successful careers on professional stages across the UK and beyond.

But whether your child is heading for the West End or simply looking for confidence and joy, every student at Stocker Dance Academy is cherished equally.

Stocker Dance Academy is a friendly welcoming place where nothing is too much trouble. My two girls have attended since they were young. They love going and the progress is evident in the annual shows. We recieve regular updates on how they are doing. They have both done the week long workshops as well and thoroughly enjoyed it. Each afternoon they came home they told us all about it and continued  to practice dancing, singing and acting as they enjoyed it so much.

I have danced at Stocker Dance Academy for over 10 years now.Through these years dance has become a safe space to go and is the favourite part of my day.I have made so many amazing friends whilst being here and built strong connections with all the teachers. Dancing has allowed my confidence to grow and I have seen massive personal growth both in and out of the studio.

During my time at Stocker Dance Academy I have become a more confident, mature dancer. The main thing I have learnt from Miss Nikki and Miss Lauren during my time here is to have more self belief, I remember calling Miss Nikki worried that I wasn't good enough to move on to dance college and she assured me that I could and I was good enough and since then I have had a lot more self belief and now I am training at Addict Dance Academy!

SDA is the best place for my children! From a young age they have been nurtured by the incredible staff and older students who have helped them blossom into confident passionate dancers.What started as just a fun activity has turned into a true passion for both my kids and they've shown incredible potential.The studios supportive environment has been iinstrumental in helping my daughter grow into a determined and confident young girl who adores the studio and its staff.
