Stocker Dance Academy
F.A.Q's
Here are a few frequently asked questions which we hope you will find useful.
1. WHAT AGE DO YOU TAKE CHILDREN FROM? We have classes available from age 18 months right through to adults.
2. MY CHILD IS AN OLDER BEGINNER CAN THEY STILL START AT ANY AGE? Yes, we will try to place your child with children of a similar age where appropriate in a class suitable for their ability and offer additional coaching if needed.
3. DO YOU OFFER TRIALS? Yes, as a new starter you can book a 2 week trial in any of our classes, this gives the students time to get a feel for the class especially if they are a little nervous in their first class. Trials can be booked through our booking system or by getting in touch with the Academy directly.
4. CAN PARENTS WATCH THE CLASSES? We usually ask parents not to watch the classes as this can be disruptive. However, we fully understand that each child is different and therefore if needed a parent can step in to give the child support. We do arrange watching week classes where parents may come in to watch once or twice a year.
5. WHAT DOES MY CHILD NEED TO WEAR? IS UNIFORM COMPULSORY? When attending a trial or starting a new class, you do not need to buy specific dance wear. We ask that children wear something comfortable that they can move easily in eg: t-shirt and shorts or leggings and either bare feet or trainers. Students starting who already have dancewear are more than welcome to continue to wear these until they have out-grown them. Once the children have settled into the class the school uniform is then compulsory, information on this will be in the Welcome Guide Book and at Reception. Items can be purchased through our onsite shop or from any local dancewear shop.
6. CAN I ENROLL AT ANY POINT IN THE YEAR? Yes, we do not have specific enrollment dates.
7. DO YOU RUN CLASSES THROUGH SCHOOL HOLIDAYS? Yes, we run our normal timetable throughout the school holidays except for a short break in Summer and at Christmas.
8. DO YOU RUN HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS AND CAMPS? We run a mixture of 1 day and 5 day workshops through school holidays which are open to both current students and non-students. Details can be found on Social Media and our booking site.
9. DO YOU OFFER PRIVATE TUITION? Yes, private tuition can be booked, however, we require 48hrs cancellation notice for these lessons.
10. HOW ARE FEES PAID AND HOW OFTEN? Fees are paid on the 1st of every month by either bank transfer, standing order or, cash and are for 4 week blocks of lessons. All fees must be paid on time in order to book the next block of lessons. With the exception of any holidays the school takes all other classes must be paid for in order to reserve the place.
11. ARE YOUR STAFF FIRST AID TRAINED AND DBS CHECKED? Yes, all our staff take first aid training specific to the dance studio environment and are enhanced DBS checked.
