TINY TOES (age 18 months+)

This is a perfect mix of basic ballet combined with mimes and songs. It has been specifically designed for children of this age group as a natural introduction to their dance journey. The class is full of songs, music and stories to create a magical world of dance. Children work through a series of award schemes as they progress through the syllabus preparing them for the next step into ballet and other styles of dance.

FIRST STEPS BALLET  & TAP (from age 3.5 yrs)

This class follows on perfectly from our Tiny Toes programme, but can be started at any time between around 3 1/2 yrs to 5yrs. In this class we explore the basics in both ballet and tap learning the positions of the feet and arms, basic rhythm combinations and dances and progressing through the Rosette programme, readying them for their next step into syllabus grades.

BALLET (from age 5yrs ) FOLLOWING THE IDTA SYLLABUS

Ballet is the basis of all dance subjects and helps to develop correct posture and co-ordination. It teaches poise, strength and discipline. Ballet has something for everyone with its unique core strength and artistry can be enjoyed by young and old alike. Young children enjoy learning about the ballet stories and portraying the various characters in their own performances, older students can follow an extra technique class for pre-pointe work and progress on to dance "En Pointe".

We also integrate the Progressing Ballet Technique syllabus into our classes to enhance the technique in our students.

TAP (from age 5yrs) FOLLOWING THE IDTA SYLLABUS

Tap is popular with old and young alike, it is a fantastic way of keeping both physically and mentally fit. Young children love to hear themselves making tapping sounds , while older students love to hear their feet "sing" and explore more complicated rhythms. All are impressed with the diversity of tap and the intricate sounds they can make.

THEATRE CRAFT & CONTEMPORARY MODERN JAZZ ( from age 5yrs) FOLLOWING THE IDTA 

Students start these classes from age 5yrs with a combined class of both Theatrecraft and Contemporary Modern Jazz being learned throughout the year. Once the students reach Grade 2 level we split the class into individual disciplines.

THEATRECRAFT: This syllabus based class is a wonderful versatile mix of all elements of dance. All this combined with learning different music styles, working to fully orchestrated musical pieces, using props and accessories make this a popular choice.

CONTEMPORARY MODERN JAZZ: Classes are structured to follow the IDTA syllabus which begins to prepare physical strength and flexibility required to demonstrate emotion through interpretation of any musical genre. Students will explore the contrasts between expansion and relaxation, learning to isolate body movements and the importance of using both big and small movements to interpret the music.

 

STREETDANCE, STREETCHEER ,FREESTYLE & COMMERCIAL DANCE 

These classes are perfect for anyone who loves a good boogie! Learning dance routines to their favourite songs while having bundles of fun.

STREETDANCE (from age 4yrs): Learn a mix of hip hop, urban, popping, locking and all the latest dance styles.

STREETCHEER (from age 6yrs): All the fun of Streetdance with the addition of Acro skills and Pom Poms!

FREESTYLE (from age 4yrs): A fun mix of StreetDance and Acro.

COMMERCIAL DANCE (from age 13yrs): For our older students to build on their StreetDance skills and incorporate different styles and often working in heels.

ACROBATIC ARTS (from age 3yrs)

Children gain the benefits of stretching and strengthening their bodies learning anything from forward rolls to more complex moves such as walk overs, aerials, and back flips. Classes are structured in levels of ability and carefully tailored to the group. The Acrobatic Arts syllabus is a fantastic way to incorporate the gymnastic skills into a fluid, strong and dynamic performance and creating a more rounded versatile dancer.

MUSICAL THEATRE ( from age 3yrs), PERFORMING ARTS (from age 12yrs),

DRAMA, SINGING AND PERFORMANCE SKILLS (from age 7yrs)

Musical theatre combines all 3 disciplines of singing, drama and dance for our younger students. Children learn routines from their favourite musicals, gaining confidnece in their performance skills.

Performing Arts like musical theatre combines the 3 disciplines to a higher level and is suitable from age 12yrs.

 

DRAMA: Students will gain confidence in both performance skills and everday situations with our drama lessons. Learning through improvistation , drama games, and script work students will gain the skills to speak confidently public and learn the difference between acting for stage and screen.

SINGING: Students will learn the correct singing technique to maintain optimum vocal health. We work on solo and group singing in a variety of different styles includng musical theatre and pop. Through the lessons th echildren learn how to sing in harmony and enhance their performance skills.

PERFORMANCE SKILLS: Students learn dance routines from various age appropriate musicals from stage and screen.Learning how to use their personalities to enhance their performance and helping each child grow and develop their confidence.

ADULT DANCE FITNESS

This fun blend of dance and exercise is a great way to improve physical and mental health. Dance the stress of the day away and have fun with new and old friends. No previous dance experience is necessary to enjoy this class.
